be active

For parents
Parents take part in practical sessions to find out what support and facilities there are in the local community to help with maintaining a healthy life-style.  Sessions might include:
  • working with health trainers
  • taster sessions at a local gyms or leisure centres
  • introduction to Change4Life activities

Parents will identify their own individual challenge - and report back on progress at a later session.

For families
We work with the parents to help them to find out about activities available in their local community and to identify activities that they would like to try with the whole family.  Support is provided to help with planning and budgeting for their chosen activities.
Each family is encouraged to choose one (or more) activity as their challenge.
It could be an outdoor activity such as walking, cycling, a picnic at a local landmark, nature watching, allotment gardening - even fishing, a sports activity such as swimming or climbing, or healthy family cooking.
